[previous research to help guide topic if needed]
Using the PolicyMap, I have used the zip code 33619. I was interested to know if there was a concern of obesity within the area. Once I had selected that topic, there is actually a high rate of 33 – 35 estimated percent of adults reporting to be obese, which was having a body mass index of 30 or greater in 2018. This meant that there were 855 – 1,065 number of adults in the area of Clair-Mel city who fell into this category. This area also displays a prevalence in low-income childhood obesity, which resulted in in about 13 percent of the childhood population recognized as obese. When I had searched the Farmer’s Markets in that area, no sites had matched within the current zip code, however. The data points shown on the map display that there are four locations of farmers markets that are not within the 33619 zip code. For further research, I selected a filter point to see if these locations offer the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program to help low-income families. Unfortunately, these locations are not supported by this federal program.
