The persuasive speech asks you to persuade members of your audience on a fact or value-based argument. What is important is that you speak to an issue in a way that is important to you, create relevance for them and connect to your informative topic.
The purpose of this speech is to persuade, not simply to argue. Persuading audience members who may be reluctant to act requires that you 1) think about why they are reluctant, 2) identify areas where these audience members can be moved, and 3) speak to those areas in a way that highlights your shared interests.
It is unlikely that you will be able to convert all of the oppositional members in your audience in a 6-8 minute span, but you can begin to weaken the commitment of your target audience, to their original position and better understand and sympathize with your position. Remember that your credibility plays an important role in persuading audiences; as such, you must deal with oppositional arguments in a fair and convincing way. Good persuaders do not ignore the opposition, nor do they simply attack the opposition, they engage opposition’s arguments in an even-handed way.
this is a paper for my public speaking class, this essay is to persuade someone on fact or value its a continuation from the last paper i wrote in the causes and managment. this speech should expand the last one so it should be on a managment of stress or something along those lines
